Our Committees

The Parke County Community Foundation is structured with three primary committees and one sub-committee, each responsible for governing distinct areas of the Foundation’s operations. These committees include Grants, Finance & Asset Development, Governance & Facilities, with a sub-committee dedicated to Scholarships. Each committee plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient management and growth of the Foundation, contributing to its mission and strategic goals.

Grants Committee

The Grants Committee is tasked with reviewing and evaluating all grant applications submitted to the Parke County Community Foundation. This committee carefully assesses each application based on established criteria, with the authority to approve, partially fund, or deny requests. For grant applications exceeding $5,000, the committee conducts an in-depth review and subsequently makes a recommendation to the Board of Directors, which holds the final decision-making authority. The Grants Committee’s role is crucial in ensuring that funding decisions align with the Foundation’s values and strategic priorities, providing support to initiatives that make a meaningful impact in the community.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible for overseeing the financial health and sustainability of the Parke County Community Foundation. This committee monitors the Foundation’s investment portfolios, ensuring that assets are managed in a prudent and effective manner to support the long-term objectives of the Foundation. Additionally, the Finance Committee works closely with staff to review and approve the Foundation’s annual budget, as well as to track expenditures, ensuring that funds are used responsibly and in alignment with the Foundation’s mission.

Asset Development, Governance & Facilities Committee

The Asset Development, Governance & Facilities Committee plays a multifaceted role in the Foundation’s operations. This committee is responsible for managing all aspects of donor relations, working to engage and retain donors through strategic outreach and stewardship efforts. It also oversees the internal governance structures of the Foundation, ensuring compliance with regulations, best practices, and the Foundation’s bylaws. Furthermore, this committee is responsible for the management and upkeep of the Foundation’s physical assets and facilities, ensuring that they are properly maintained and serve the needs of the Foundation and the community.

Scholarships Sub-Committee

Operating as a sub-committee under the Grants Committee, the Scholarships Sub-Committee is dedicated to reviewing and awarding scholarships to eligible students. This sub-committee evaluates applications, ensuring that recipients meet the established criteria and that awards are distributed equitably. The Scholarships Sub-Committee plays a key role in supporting the educational aspirations of individuals in the community, furthering the Foundation’s mission to improve the quality of life in Parke County.

Each of these committees is integral to the Parke County Community Foundation’s mission, ensuring that the Foundation’s resources are allocated effectively, its operations are well-governed, and its community impact is maximized.

Our Board of Directors and our Committees are an ever-changing group of individuals who all share in the Community Foundation’s mission of helping donors improve the quality of life in Parke County.
