Indy Opera Comes to the Ritz Theater

Recently the Antoinette Green Fund for Classical Music Appreciation provided grades K-3 in Parke County the opportunity to personally experience the Indianapolis Opera at the Ritz Theatre. They showcased Little Red's Most Unusual Day on April 7th this year for the students. The Indianapolis Opera has been coming to the Ritz since 2008.

The students and teachers were invited to experience the talents of five classically trained vocalists which told the fairy tale with a contemporary twist as it tackles the issue of bullying and honesty.

Mrs. Green thought it is important for elementary students to encounter classical music at a young age in hopes that an appreciation for it would be fostered into adulthood. The Parke County Community Foundation, at Mrs. Green’s request, utilizes this particular fund to provide local elementary student exposure to these classical music experiences generation after generation.
